Getting bokeh effect in Smartphone ! it doesn't mean that you have DSLR !
Hi my name is Gaurav and I am a mobile photographer and also a tech enthusiast .
Lets come to the point These days I am hearing about smartphone should have a bokeh effect even while taking selfies And for taking pictures from rear camera does this means it can comparible to a DSLR just because of DSLR has a best picture system which focuses on the subject and that's why the background of a DSLR pic is slightly bokeh, and people think that this is what making DSLR what DSLR is. but this is not true at all you can't compare a DSLR with mobile camera in any matter even it's a camera of Google pixel or iPhone X . Yes mobile cameras are getting closer Two somehow giving professional software in their camera app but The lenses you can't change and the size of lenses which a smartphone carries.
Why ? Because the DSLR carries the lenses which The actual size is more than the size of a smartphone and DSLR doesn't require any kind of software Optimisation to make a photo background blur or in today's language bokeh.
These days mobile companies are selling and creating a hype of comparing and giving the specifications which DSLRs have and making a miss confusion among the public And the consumers. Now let me clear you that how a mobile camera blurs background or makes bokeh effect .
Simply if you take an example of OnePlus 6 smartphone it has a best feature of bokeh in both front and rear camera with of f/ 1.8 or f/1.7 aparture .But These cameras cannot take depth in the pictures it can just make pictures bright and gives a good light to your pictures mostly the cameras which are focused on Night photography Are available in f/ 1.8 aperture and F/ 1.7 aperture but people actually don't know about the truth that and F 1.8 and F 1.7 aperture can't give the depth to the picture so these companies are making fool to common people by giving bokeh effects in pictures To sell their smartphones .
Now let me compare you about the aperture in DSLR Example if you take a pic in DSLR if we go in details of that size of a picture will be about 10 to 15 MB and the Aparture goes to f /7.1 f/ 4.1 f/6.1 and above it or below it .
so this is the biggest difference in Smartphone and DSLR because DSLRs lenses doesn't relay on the lowest aperture for taking the light they have bigger lenses and bigger image processor to take the light in so that a DSLR is made to take focus on the picture and the background gets more depth in pic .the aperture increased and the depth increases .
if I'll give you a good camera example now why Google pixel is told as a best camera smartphone these days because it is beating iPhone because of the dual rear cameras of pixel with combinationof is 1.8 aperture and the other camera is f/ 2.7 aperture to take great low light picture as well as great depth and this means the smartphone is beating all the flagship smartphone cameras in this segment because of the combination of such a good lenses
Conclusion
Now I think you have cleared your doubt and thrown the myth of comparing Mobile and DSLRs And the truth Of aparture that how company is selling phones by saying and adding features of DSLRs Actually this is all An Advertising Strategy nothing else
Thanks
